Dr. Danny Hitchcock is originally from Colorado Springs, Colorado, and has lived in many places over his career, including New Jersey, Iowa, Pennsylvania, France, and Switzerland. He earned his master’s and doctorate degrees in developmental psychology and behavioral neuroscience from Rutgers University in New Jersey, studied in Switzerland at the University of Geneva, and completed his undergraduate education at The Colorado College in Colorado Springs.


His research interests include active learning strategies for the classroom, emotion and memory, a holistic bio-psycho-social-spiritual approach to psychology, human infancy, mentoring, sexuality, and the relation of cognitive schema theory to the Christian worldview.


Dr. Hitchcock and his wife have four adult children whom they homeschooled, two of whom are still in college. Dr. Hitchcock loves fishing, singing, swimming, his 1964 VW, and spending time with his family. The Hitchcocks live in Chesapeake, Virginia.
