Intentional Classroom Design


This presentation is for new faculty or veterans who are always looking for new ways to be their best self. Over the years, many things have been attempted to make our classrooms more comfortable, more rigorous, or more flexible depending on priorities. This is a reflection of these experiences from multiple disciplines.

Melinda Clardy,
South Louisiana Community College

From an early age, Melinda knew teaching was her path. As such, she has used all of her experiences to shape her techniques. Originally from Wisconsin, she made her way south by way of Chicago's Illinois Institute of Technology.

She is currently an associate professor of mathematics at South Louisiana Community College where she has put in nearly 9 years of service. In addition, she works with many youths in the community tutoring and serves proudly as a Hawkes Faculty Consultant.
